Somerville is in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. Occupying slightly over 4 square miles, Somerville has an eclectic population of professionals, students, third generation residents and immigrants. Rich in both history and culture, the city has something for everyone.
Somerville Public Schools leads among urban districts in the Commonwealth, with continued high growth in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. Somerville’s focus on educating the whole child, supporting them both inside the classroom and out, is the linchpin to sustained academic success for our students. Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center
The Michael E. Capuano Early Childhood Center is a unique, public, early-childhood facility dedicated to enriching the lives of the children and families it serves. The school serves over 350 Pre-K and Kindergarten learners in a beautiful, bright, public early childhood facility. The building was designed with young children in mind, and offers a creative and environmentally friendly learning space where children can safely explore, learn and grow.

Albert F Argenziano School
The Dr. Albert F. Argenziano School at Lincoln Park serves over 550 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth. Our students come from 25 different countries and speak 27 different languages. Though our student body is multi-cultural and international, our community is rooted in the Lincoln Park and Union Square neighborhood. Many students and staff walk to school each day and play together in Lincoln Park after school.

Arthur D Healey School
The Arthur D Healey school serves over 500 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth. The school emphasizes learning through creative experiences of project-based learning, arts integration, service learning integration and off-site learning. The Healey celebrates diversity through its core values: excellence, joy, openness and creativity.

Benjamin G Brown School
The Benjamin G Brown School serves over 250 students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. Built in 1900, the Brown School is the oldest elementary school in Somerville. The Brown offers a small school, family atmosphere with a strong emphasis on preparing students to excel academically and personally, providing them with the tools to become productive and positive members of society.

East Somerville Community School
The East Somerville Community School (ESCS) serves over 650 students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth. The newly-built ESCS features state-of-the-art technology, a beautiful auditorium, several recreation facilities, outdoor learning environments including a school garden courtyard, energy-saving features, and much more. ESCS is also home to the District's UNIDOS program, a two-way English/Spanish language and cultural immersion program.

The John F Kennedy School serves over 400 students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth. Named for President John F. Kennedy, Somerville's Kennedy School is driven by the goal of providing all students with academic, social, and emotional experiences to learn and practice the knowledge and skills necessary for future success.

West Somerville Neighborhood School
The West Somerville Neighborhood School (WSNS) serves over 350 students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth. Staff, parents, guardians and the community of the WSNS collaborate for the development of the whole child, while maintaining high academic expectations. In 2014, the school earned Level 1 designation by the DESE, the highest accountability rating in the state's 5-level rating system.

Winter Hill Community Innovation School
The Winter Hill Community Innovation School serves over 400 students in grades Kindergarten through Eighth. The school is a child-centered, academically rich environment that serves a population of students from culturally diverse backgrounds. It incorporates kindergarten, elementary, middle school, Sheltered English Immersion (SEIP) and Special Education programs taught by an experienced and caring faculty. This is also Somerville's first innovation school.
